That’s What Jesus Did For Me

Written by Mary Martin

From the front porch of a home in Guinea Bissau I felt a fresh taste of God's incredible love for me. An old woman came down the path carrying a large dishpan of water on her head. Her hands were shaking and her step was unsteady. Just then a younger woman stepped out of the house, spoke to this lady, then lifted the basin over on to her own head. As I watched the weight transfer from one head to the other, tears sprang to my eyes. I thought, “Wow, that's what Jesus did for me.” On the cross He carried my burden. As I watched the ladies travel down the path together, I was reminded that He carries my cares as he beckons me come and follow him.
