Meet the Workers

We believe God has called us to give support to those who we know who are in full time service. We try to link sponsors to each person supported. This allows for more than financial support but for words of encouragement and prayer requests as well. We believe this method ministers to the whole person and is in line with the Biblical teaching on our being the Body of Christ.

  • El Camino Adelante

    Honduras

    El Camino Adelante (The Way Forward) is a Christian ministry whose primary purpose serves in assisting the transition of youth coming from institutional home settings, desiring to work toward independent living. Located in Valle de Angeles and Tegucigalpa, Honduras, ECA assists recent high school graduates as they move into the next steps in their lives.

    El Camino Adelante is a ministry whose formation began in 2010. The vision for the ministry came in response to seeing the need of help for youth to transition from life at an institution or children's home to becoming productive members of Honduran society. Harlan and Janelle Horst have pioneered this ministry, after serving for numerous years at La Finca de los Ninos, a children's home in Valle de Angeles, Honduras. The ministry focuses on skills training, financial independence, and a continuing relationship with God.

    ECA initially finds and provides housing for several months in a safe environment for interested qualifying youth as they come from the home. As they learn and grow, the youth will gain greater independence, working toward acquiring their own apartment and job. ECA desires to walk alongside as mentors offering love, care and support for the youth during this difficult time of transition. Certainly this is "The Way Forward" for many of the youth we know and love.
